X-( Worst ?
Since being dumped here ( Texas Gulfcoast), it did not take me long to learn that basically every little ( and big ) pesky critter/insect-a-critter is venemous. Fire Ants ? What is the whole point of their existence ? They are as useless as a ca-ca-roach.
I am a displaced Yankee, where I come, the ants only pester the picnic. You don't have to "hover" in air, keeping every part of yourself in mid air ( and then you have those nasty ant "like" thingys falling on you from the trees..These nasty buggers are small enough to slip into anything you wear...So that leave out any "hovering" in the shade.Which leaves you with 3 basic choices....get bit, get bit, or move.....THEN there are the "bees"...oh not your everyday honeybee... now we have to contend with the tag-team bees, that pounce on any living creature. Louisianna is but a stones throw away, and these painful pests are willing, and able to cross the border. THANKS VEXCOM for some of the VERY USEFUL pest control tips, I found your show educational as well as entertaining. QUESTION.. Does that Chrysanth( can't spell the word correctly ) the extract from this flower is toxic to bugs( ew) but not to people.. do they use this in a skeeter repellant ? Oh yeah..Texas skeeters...at least up north the cold would freeze out the bloodsuckers, but here..24/7 ALL YEAR LONG...oh so not fair. Well since one of my few all time favorite programs has gone AWOL ( Exterminators ) I wonder if I will have an answer...?:|:_|
:O OMG!! I have had the usual pest probs before like ants , bees that nested in the wall of my house and came in through the electrical sockets BUT nothing will ever stick in my mind and actually give me nightmares like these lil bad a--s's.
My daughters ex boyfriend was booted out of his house about 3 yrs ago and was living in a dive motel for about a month and I hated when she went and stayed with him cuz she never ate, I was worried sick etc. So finally I went with my older 2 daughters and dragged her butt home being stupid and saying HE could stay with us for awhile just to get her home. Well 2 days later he showed up with his bags in hand and my nightmare pests living in his luggage!!! BEDBUGS!!!!! I have never seen anything like it. My older daughter and 2yr old grandaughter were living with us too. It started off with KC waking up with bites all over her. Didnt know it was bites at the time, I changed my laundry soap and everything but the welts still came. finally she saw one of the little buggers on her bed by then it was too late they had migrated downstairs to the sofa where my grandaughter slept, they were upstairs downstairs, everywhere, you didnt itch till you were bit then you look down and there it is lol. I bought this smelly crap online that didnt work, they even gave me nightmares, we finally moved out left all the furniture, bedding only took what we could wash at the laundry matt before it entered the new place. Bought all new furniture beds etc... I sure wish we had Billy here back then lol.
In the Northeast there is a species of hornets that are called "white-faced" as their thorax and head are white and these suckers are just as bad if not worse than Africanized bees because they are very aggressive and some can get quite large! Unlike their counterparts these horrors do not lose their stinger or die so if you get stung count on heading to the hospital. I remember we had a real problem with them at an apartment building. They had made a nest in the crawl space up over the porch and got so bad, no one could go out without getting stung or dive bombed ! The landlord sent a pest control company to check things out and I watch out the window and he comes flying down the ladder and tells me it is the biggest nest he has ever seen and that we had to leave for a few days and the reason the nest was so large, is the attic was warm even over the winter months due to solar panels and he would have to bomb at least three times to assure that he would get them all!! We left and came back two days later and the ground was littered with thousands of dead hornets and the nest he saved and it was about 6 feet long by 7 feet wide!!! Being allergic and afraid of bees, this made my life happier and it blows me away to see Billy casually go up to the nests like those red wasps and just blasts them away and to me it would be a nightmare, those things look huge!!!
