Yes, I saw the Fantastic Four as well. I must say, I found it very strange to hear Ioan without his accent. (This was the first movie I'd seen him in outside of the Horatio series.) And remember when he kindof melted? Uug... I cringed.

Ioan was a delightful Reed Richards -- intelligent and charming. The movie's light stuff, but lots of fun, and it has a surprising amount of heart.

The only reason he'll be moving on from Hornblower, is because those with the power to make more episodes choose not to.

I've been pulling for Ioan ever since I saw THE DUEL. I think he's an incredible talent. I was happy to see his rising stardom, but like many others, sad to see that PERHAPS he might be moving on from HH. I sincerely hope not. This will be breaking film history in Ioan's portrayal of a "role of a lifetime."

Given that, I really WANTED to like F4, but Jessica Alba is so horrendous I found myself laughing at what looked like adult film star acting; pouty, jutting, eyemakeup... BLECH!

The script did not give an opportunity for Ioan to capitalize on the role. I don't fault him for taking the role. Being a former professional actor myself, if given the chance to take a mediocre role that paid alot of money and gave great exposure... well, it's hard to deny I'd leap at it.

Many friends disliked the movie. I will still purchase the DVD. I hope his reputation as a seriously talented actor is not damaged by what some might see as a really poor script.

Well I saw Fantastic Four.
Well I think Ioan is on his way to becoming one of the actors we'll be seeing a lot more of. Being Mr.Reed/Mr. Fantastic put him in the total forefront with the audience so many more now will know of him. Oh and that tight suit, leaves nothing to the imagination. Though most of the lighting is above the waist on him, so you ain't seeing what's below except on a couple of quickie scenes, and all I can say is, 'he's no short stick'. ;) :^O

I really like Michael Chickliss as The Thing. Very amusing moments and interesting thoughts....

As for Bad Boy, The Human Torch, geesh, get a brain.

Jessica Alba, arrgggghhh, too much eye-makeup and false eyelashes would knock any bad guy down long before her boobs do, and lets not forget the Botox lips-
Oh yuuucccckkkkyyyyy!

All in all the movies despise it's cheesyiness, was pretty decent. Some good effects like Mr. Fantastic wrapping himself around Dr. Doom. Gee I'd like him to wrap himself around me like that. :x
I also liked the way Dr. Doom was included with the other 4 when the radiation thing hit. It made more sense to me, than to have it happen away from them in another way as in the comic books I use to read.
Some people even applauded when the movie ended. Not sure if that was a 'we liked it' or was a 'we're glad it was over'. ?:|

On a ratings scale of 5 reels, I give it a 4.

Well, driving through Liverpool this morning I saw a FF poster which Ioan had all to himself - and very fine he looked, too! Must put that on my list to see - I've slipped out of the habit of going to the cinema lately. Haven't even seen Revenge of the Sith! Tut tut...
Cheers,

I didn't see that, but this bit of fun I have to pass on. Here in the San Deigo area we got a flyer/movie poster kind of thing for the the Fantastic Four from SBC Services. On the opposite side of the page it shows the characters, including Ioan with respective ads for phones, computers etc. Well the writing under Ioan's 'ad' for phone stuff, Mr. Fantastic, says things like "personal choice, all distance service" that just cracked me up.:^O
My other half didn't get the innuendoes.?:|

Ioan and THE FANTASTIC FOUR

What a wonderful way to start the day--Ioan and the rest of the starring cast were on Fox and Friends this morning. Brian Kilmeade even pronounced Ioan's name correctly. Anyone else see it?

For someone who does not go to the movies much, perhaps I will for this one. Hmm....
