Where was the plane when it fell?

I don't know much about how planes look like when they crash so I was wondering when the Flight 93 plane crashed did it fall into small pieces? did it look like a plane after it crashed?
Also they said "well it isn't in the ground maybe it's in the wood" So where was it? Was it so fallen apart that you couldn't even identify it? Was in the ground, because at the end they show the ground with all four season?
