I think Tom's voice is good when he speaks slow and low, like on the Ike documetary, but the French beach and hero add for the show, got close to the Magnum P.I. whine and gayiety pitch.I'm a DAV and watch A&E 6 hours a day, so in the last two weeks, I've heard the phrase about 50 times.Yea, it's an emotional line. Really, I like Quigley and Crossfire. That's Tom's home, but I know you gotta branch where the waters at.

Any idea what the main source material was? Would these quotes be in a bio/autobio?

The quotes from Selleck were interesting, but can anyone verify their historical reliability? "We must do more than liberate Europe, we must save it." "The thing about all power, Beetle -- it isn't the big decisions that weigh heavy, it's the details, the small stuff. It's easy to gamble a million lives. What's hard to see is how that can hurt one single person. And if you can't keep that straight -- hell, you'll lose your humanity, won't you?" I'm not sending a bunch of fresh young kids from Iowa and California to die on French beaches for people they know nothing about! I'm asking them to die for freedom. And they're ready to do it, and that's why they're heroes.
