I haven't seen the William Hurt version yet --- but I have it at home, I am just waiting for some time to be able to see it. I haven't heard good things about this version.

I have recently seen the Dalton version, and I didn't care for the actress that played Jane at all. She didn't play the character the way I wished she would have.

I wish. I don't think the story Jane Eyre ever gets old or outdated.

I wish they would make a new version - I was just trying to think of who I would pick as the Jane and Rochester character. No one comes to mind - but before making a new version, they (the movie makers) should ask us - the true Jane Eyre fans who we would want to play the characters.

I thought Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton did a fantastic job. I have seen that movie about 50 times!

As I dinīt saw T.D. version (I know, I should see it...) I cannot say anything about it.

But I saw Hinds version, and I absolutely love it!
Heīs so cute! I really donīt care that they "missed" the whole Jane-becoming-rich part... I can live with that... ;)
Hmm... Maybe Iīm falling in love with Hindsī Rochester... hehe maybe that is my probleme here... hehe.

How about a mix...

between Dalton and Morton. I like Hinds dearly but love to see Dalton more as Mr.Rochester. The actress w/ Dalton was good also but too plain for Dalton. I watched TSOAF and like Hinds as Russian president.

the A and E version was alot better than the version with william hurt, but I also loved the one with Timothy Dalton. I did find and when I still watch my movie with hinds/morton I wasn't really impressed with Hinds first entrance to the movie. He seemed to of had a scratchy whinnie voice. I don't know....he added more of a touch to the romance, but.....I don't know. But I did like Hinds acting in the movie *the sum of all fears* played an excellent russian me thinks!!!!

A&E version

though of course, I love the A&E version of Jane Eyre too. Hinds and Morton was very good!:) I think the worse version was the Gainsborg-Hurt version! Though Gainsborg has a beautiful swan neck...but still the adaptation was so very different from the book

New series for Jane Eyre?

Is there a plan on making a new Jane Eyre film/mini-series? I wished that there would be. And if ever they will make one, I hope that it is closer to the book like what they did with Pride and PRejudice and I hope that Andrew Davies can do the screenplay-he is so good at that!!:) The best Jane Eyre adaptation for me is the 1983 version-the Dalton-Clarke version.:) Timothy Dalton did justice to Mr. Rochester's character.
