I've watched The First 48 for a long time and I really have a great deal of respect for Caroline Mason. This is a woman who can do her job well, and has a very compassionate side for people regardless of what side of the law they are on. Her techniques are excellent. She cares about people and it's a genuine sense of caring. It's not a front by any means.
A couple people mentioned her work attire. I don't feel there's anything wrong with her work attire. So the lady like to wear heels...big deal... She dresses very classy and has alot of style. Kudos to her! Keep up the good work Caroline.

I have watched The First 48 for a long time. I have a lot of respect for Sgt. Caroline Mason. She is very professional and you can tell that she really loves her job. I don't see any thing wrong with her dressing up and wearing heels. Who says that you have to wear drab clothes while on the job. I haven't seen any of this getting in the way of her job.
She is one tough cookie, but has a soft side to her. She can show her soft, caring side to suspects and also show her tough, hard side to them when they act very stupid. She solves most of her cases and I think she is a great role model for women and her children. If Memphis PD didn't think she was doing her job well, then she wouldn't be doing it. If looking great and having pride in yourself is bad then we all would be pretty sad. Whatever makes her happy and confident.

What kills me about her is the stiletto heels she wears to go apprehend a suspect. And the number of times she will tell you about her "Ghetto Pass" in each episode.

I don't know if there are any people who watch 48 hours as much as I do, but I have come to know the detectives very well. I am truly in awe of Detective Caroline Mason. She gets suspects to talk by appealing to their human nature, acts like a mother figure, and does the footwork, all the while looking beautiful while she does it. I am such a fan of hers! The Memphis PD is very lucky to have such a dedicated detective. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!
