I am floored at the efforts people go to just to bash someone else. I am finding it hard to read many of these posts. I don't understand the anger and hate that many people are dishing out. It really sounds like sour grapes to me. On the surface the Montelongo's appear to be unscrupulous, but if you watch they do take care of their contractors and they take care of each other. Much of what they do is more out of fun than it is machismo or arrogance. The practical jokes, the business end of it all, their ability to make a dollar. Hell I wish I could do what they are doing and have as much fun as they are. Bottom line here is Don't Hate the Player. Hate the game. The rules were written long before they came along. They just learned the rules and are playing the game and winning to boot.

To Whom It May Concern,
I have been in constuction for 29 years, the last 10 I have been specializing in kitchen and cabinet design and construction. Therefore, I know what I am talking about.
I am not just going to do like a lot of people and say I hate them, I am going to expound on the reality of the damage these people are doing. I don't know what A&E is thinking of by running these selfish, self centered people. Can they even imagine what this type of influence is doing to those innocent well meaning people that want to do this type of businness that these people are doing. Please know that they do not represent the majority of investors, or construction type businesses out there.
First they are in business to make money, we all are. So why do they think that the entire constuction and realestate world revolves around them abusing contractors and the people that are making them their money. And who are they to dictate to others how to run their businesses and thus their lives. While they love lining their own pockets, they think nothing of taking money from people with far less than them in order to line thier pockets.
I do not understand what A&E is thinking of in giving legitimacy and profits to them. Are you trying to have a show in realestate that rivials the success of the custom biker shows. The biker shows, these guys work and own and do the work themselves. It is more than evident that Armondo has never done any construction himself or if he has he has no concept of people skills.
Over the years I have found that you must treat the people that are making your money with dignity and respect, even when things go wrong.
I implore anyone that is going to get into this line of business not to run their business like these guys. These guys are a disgrace to any sort of business that I have had the privledge of being a part of in the construction field for the last 29 years.
I would impore A&E to dump these guys and get a company that is descent and respectful to all. And I cannot believe that these beautiful women that they have for wives puts up with them. It is like they are selling themselves out for the all mighty dollar with this guy Armondo. Armondo is a disgrace, and it is evident that his god is money, and his own self centered world.
The sad thing is he could do the same thing and make his and those that work for him a blessing for all, instead it seems he makes everyones experience with him a living hell. I get disgusted everytime my sons watch this horror of humanity, named Armondo. Because they are getting into this business and his attitude is beginning to rub off on them and that freightens me. Because,if they run their business like Armondo, even if they make money they will be a failure in life and I will be severely disappointed in them. I hope and pray they never do anything the way Armondo does.
Sincerely,
God Bless all that read this and do your business in a Godly and respectful way,
Jim

So why do we have to be careful in what we say again? What are you with your Real Estate license and your family of Realtors gonna do if people aren't careful? A number of realtors, contractors, investors, and others connected to the housing markets watch these shows. And yes, we are licensed.

How are you connected to the Montelongo family?

I'm a Realtor in Houston. I don't know where all these Realtors get off on putting down the Montelongo Brothers. I see two guys who are taking calculated risks, and doing a great job renovating properties. I think Realtors are jealous because the brothers are successful.

I don't find the brothers to be an "embarrassment" to the Realtor community. Plus, they sell the homes themselves and save the commissions. Thats not bad. That is smart. Most investors try to sell their own properties in order to reduce expenses. There are plenty of other properties on the market for Realtors to sell. And I'm sure if a Realtor actually worked, and brought the Montelongo's an actual buyer, they would pay the 3% commission on the buyers side.

I'm a realtor. And Im not impressed with most of the realtors that I deal with. Only 20 percent of the realtors in the business, do most of the transactions (80 to 90%).

I think everyone should quit putting down the Montelongo Family, and find something constructive to say. Realtors tend to complain too much. I know how unprofessional Realtors can be.

Remember, I also have my Real Estate license. And I come from a family of Realtors. So be careful what you say in your response to my reply.

I like watching the Montelongo family on "Flip this House" Great Job. I wish I had the funding to make flips like that. The Montelongos have their act together, and they know what they are doing in Real Estate.

Excuse me, but what part of this family conveys "Successful Hispanics"? Hispanic culture is supposed to be about respect, class, family, and traditions. Respect and class are completely absent from this crew, and being a 2nd, 3rd, generation Hispanic doesn't give anyone the excuse to forget their native Spanish. And furthermore, please do not tag the females in this new crew as rolemodels. As it stands, both females let their husbands do with them as they please; since when has their input been used or appreciated? I respect my wife to the fullest, the day I fool her into taking care of a bee problem is the day she serves me divorce papers - that's the essence of a true proud Hispanic female.

Clueless hucksters with no taste is probably the best way to describe the new Flip This House crew. What were they thinking at A&E? A misanthropic, macho, mysogynist husband, his bubble-headed wife with the squeaky voice - what a pair! I've stopped watching until they bring in a new crew. I suggest everyone else do likewise.

Wow! I am amazed at the negetive feedback on the San Antonio investors. I thought the show has been great. I don't agree with every decision made but don't we all like to make our own decisions. And most of us tend to think our decisions are better than the one in charge. As a former Realtor from South Carolina and a current resident of Texas I have a bit of insight... Some Realtors dislike investors who are actually interested in making a profit if it means they (the realtor)are not in on the cut. Business is business and there is plenty to go around. Why not wish them the best and consider it healthy competition?

Count me in as disappointed in the new Flip This House. The one thing Trademark insisted on was treat everyone fair. These new crews seem to act like they are above treating anyone with respect if it means more money for them.

Buh-Bye A&E

I CAN AT LEAST WATCH THE ATLANTA CREW. I WONDER IF THE SAN ANTONIO CREW STANDS BEHIND THE HOUSES THEY SELL. I WILL BET ALOT OF BUYERS OF THE SAN ANTONIO HOUSES GET A REAL EDUCATION WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE.

I hope that the subcontractor's see the show and refuse to work for them anymore. Lying about a budget and being so pround of saving $2,000 shows the character of Armondo. When the contractor submitted that big bill to Richard he sat down with the contractor and worked out paying more then was originally quoted to make sure that everyone was happy and taken care of.

I wish I could tell their contractors how foolish they look week after week. In addition, I thought this show was suppose to be reality/educational. I lost total respect for the Atlanta crew when they had kitchen appliances coming from Aaron's rentals. That is subpar at its best.

I AM 50 YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS 32 YEARS. THESE PEOPLE ARE AWFUL. IF ANY OF MY SALESMEN ACTED LIKE THESE PEOPLE THEY WOULD BE GONE GONE GONE. FROM A MALE POINT OF VIEW THE WIVES ARE VERY PRETTY AND THEY STILL ARE VERY UNLIKABLE. I HAVE NEVER TAKEN THE TIME TO VOICE MY OPINION ABOOUT ANY TV SHOW BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST SO BAD I HAD TO JOIN AND REPLY. I WOULD NEVER BUY A HOUSE FROM THESE PEOPLE. WE CAN ONLY HOPE THIS LOOK INTO HOW THEY FLIP THESE HOUSES WILL PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. DO THEY PULL PERMITS? IS THE CONSTRUCTION WORK INSPECTED?
