The Gotti's.... It looks like A and E in their descent into sleeze, have created a TV series based on ex/jailed/dead? mafioso John Gotti's daughter and her three sons.. Carmine Frank and whatsisface. Apparently this show is about the daughter living the high life writing, visiting fashion shows and raising her three incorrible, but cute, (snort--not) sons. John Gotti was a member of the American mafia in-- stop me if I'm wrong GSC-- Philadelphia? New York? During his trial for extortion, murder, etc, I think he was the one they called the "Teflon Don" cause the lawyers were having trouble getting charges to stick. In short, he was a cold blooded murdering sleezebucket. What A and E or TNDKSLGE (whatever incarnation it is now) sees in his progeny is beyond me. I have not been home to watch TV much in the past few years, but, as A and E was one of my favourite channels when I was home, what I'm seeing and hearing is very discouraging..  |

Yes, it is indeed sad. I remember when this place was busier than...than a place that was really busy (can't think of a metaphor...haven't had coffee yet).
It will be sad to see it go. And speaking of sad, I really hate having to look at the Gottis as I write this. What a sad travesty the once-great A&E has become.

Hopefully we can keep some interesting discussions going. It is discouraging knowing there doesn't look like being any new Hornblower for a while - some of the later books would make some of the best movies. There must be a few topics we haven't covered yet......

It seems there has been a delay in activating the new registration system. I expect it'll happen soon though. Most people seem to have left here already anyway.

Couldn't have put it better myself, Liz! I know I haven't been here much lately, but Hornblower is a worldwide phenomenon with fans in many countries. I'm not at all impressed at being excluded from posting based on where I live. Fortunately I'm registered on Horatians - where you can also post pictures (if only I could learn to do it!) so I hope I'll see you - and any other A&E refugees! - over there soon.
