It's called a "straw" purchase. It's when a felon can no longer legally buy firearms. They send their girlfriend to buy what they want. He could do several years for this alone...as well as the girlfriend who bought it and let him keep it at his house.

I think committed that crime. To many things point to him like access to an AK-47. What the hell was his girlfriend doing with that type of gun anyways? He figured out a way to beat the system (this time) but I'm sure he'll wind up behind bars for something else. He thinks he too slick so he'll slip up.

I thought that was a great episode. One of the best episodes by far. I can't believe he tricked the system and the detectives couldn't get him. I was so mad that he got away. He needs to be behind bars. There needs to be some kind of justice for the victim and his family. Detective Ervins Ford and Sgt. Eunice Cooper did a great job trying to get Jhu.

I figured he would be in jail for something by now. What was his real name?

I know that Detectives can not comment much on their cases, but I was wondering if anyone in the Miami Police Department could comment on whether the case is still unsolved?

"Jhu" from Foolproof Alibi

I thought this was one of the best cases I have seen on first 48. If you don't remember, a 20 y/o man was gunned down with an AK-47 in the middle on broad day light in MI-yah-yo.

The detectives discovered that the victim had a beef with a 17 y/o that went by the name Jhu. The detectives had eye witnesses that said the shooter was short, dark skinned, and was in a white or gray ford taurus. It just so happened that Jhu was short, dark skinned, and drove a white ford taurus. The story really gets good when the detectives find out that Jhu's girlfriend owns an AK-47, the very same gun used in the murder, and keeps it at Jhu's house. When detectives question his girlfriend she tells them that she does not know where the gun is and that it was last put in Jhu's attic.

The problems arose in the investigation when Jhu was found to be on probation and has a GPS tracking device attached to his ankle. The GPS had him registered at his home during the time the shooting took place. This was his alibi. The detectives tried to trick the system in hopes of proving his device was faulty, but could not prove this.

At the end of the show the detectives said that the probation office had lost Jhu and they had no idea where he was. But in the closing they said that no one had been charged in the victims murder, and that no charges had been filed against Jhu.

I am POSITIVE that Jhu commited or had something to do with murder.

Does anyone have an update on the case?
