OOOPS...WRONG!!! OK, get this: The "Infernus" bacterium is initially recovered from thermal vents, but they have the bacterium at Wildfire (probably as part of an extensive microorganism storage library), so they are now able to GROW UP LARGE QUALTITIES of the bug in stainless steel compounding tanks to give to the military so it can be aerosolized all over the land and save the day. But, in the future, you would expect that the same Infernus bug is stored in one of the many worldwide culture collections in existence and you can readily start to grow a new batch of Infernus at any given moment. That's the way we do it in the micro lab folks! I almost E. coli'd in my pants when I realized what was going on in the movie. The original Andromeda Strain was one reason why I got interested in microbiology in the first place, and the mini-series left me with a hole in my petri plate!

Besides how far back are you going to go and how far foward??? And if you go far back, who's going to resent it greatly? Think you can change the course of **ap, maybe some people wouldn't have it --- HERO!!! ha take that!!! Maybe you'd just make things worse, maybe you wouldn't find the answers you wanted, maybe those people were smart enough to know you'd come back and made a previous plan...hahaha!

Time travel plots NEVER work for me, either going backwards or fowards, I just th ink it's real dangerous territory to tread in. Because ou'd be dealing with spirit matter and all of that stuff, and well, who can deal with that. Plus past or future emotions....not good...not good...

Introduce even a little time travel, and you introduce plots that get very difficult for even a skilled writer to manage. But every sci-fi hack writer wannabe has to give it a whirl anyway, despite the pitfalls we've all seen time and again.
In the case of A&E's Andromeda Stain*, your questions do not mean that you missed some detail, or are stupid, or that the plot was so intricate it'll take repeated viewings to sort it all out. In this case, it simply revealed a writer that lost control of the plot, and attempted to tidy up the mess in the last few minutes with an ending that, given experience in the genre and a little thought, made no sense whatsoever.

even if the events we see didn't happen for the future people, the future people encountered Andromeda in the future and they used the tubes they used for all other biological storage. So in the future they still have a library of tubes all with the triangle design on them. They encounter Andromeda and can not kill it with the amount of Infernus they have in the future. So they send it back to the past so that we can kill Andromeda, unfortunately we did NOT kill all of Andromeda. We stored it. And in the NEW future that is now created there is a library of biological stuff all in tubes with triangle designs.
regardless of which path we chose, there will always be a library of biological stuff that use the triangle design. In the first version of the future Andromeda was not yet apart of the library. In the second version of the future the library already had some Andromeda in it. So the "End" of the movie is actually like "dun dun dun oooooooh what happens next gasp"

ok 2 thing your right about the whole keeping the info but andromeda does not exist because we sent it back it exist because aliens put it on earth in the future

the logic of putting the plates with information about humans on voyager and sending it into space (that was in the movie) is the same kind of logic that fuels this idea i came across (i can't remember where) that it would be a good idea to keep a record of all biological data ever found on Earth. Like a library of everything ever, at least at the cellular level. Like even if the future people had used up way too much of the Infernus stuff, they still had a little bit of it left to test against Andromeda (thats how they figured out the cure) but they didn't have enough of Infernus to kill off *all* of Andromeda (but in the past we had more than enough).
of course, if in the past we had the ability to make a whole lot of Infernus in 10 hours, how is it we don't have the technology to make a whole lot of Infernus in the future?
personally I think any story with Time Travel has A LOT of holes in it (no pun intended) and it's best to just sit back, enjoy the explosions, and think about more important things.
so, try not to think about it lol

oh what i mean is the things the happen in the show are happening for the 1st time the ppl in the future have never seen andromeda because they could not stop it meaning scoop did not exist and nothing that we saw happened so where did they get the 3D image
