Upcoming Hornblower episodes?

Hi, I am new to this website and want to say how much my family have enjoyed the Horatio Hornblower Series and we liked it so much, we have purchased all eight dvds. I did prefer the first four that were put out, as they ended in such a way that I felt you did not need to watch the next (but we did of course, because they were so great!). The last four all ended in ways where you needed to see the next one and I was disappointed when Duty ended with Maria, telling Horatio about her going to have his child and that was the end of the New Adventures (they need to have more or they need to do a closing movie). I have seen over the internet that they are not going to do any more in this series and I hope that is not true!? Hope to see another come out soon and hope that Ioan is playing Horatio again - he is a great actor and have enjoyed some of the other movies he has played in!

I am also new to these forums and normally I don't sign up for them, however, the HH movies are some of my favorite and I am all in favour of AandE making more of them. I remember running across this series when it originally aired (back in 1997-8?) by pure chance and i was immediately hooked. I have always been interested in this era of naval history and these movies have been great to watch. AandE, please don't disappoint your many fans and make more episodes!

You probably already know this, but just in case AE doesn't come out with Captain HH anytime soon, you can always step back in time and view the classic "Captain Horatio Hornblower" starring Gregory Peck and Virginia Mayo to see one version of what happens next.

That movie was my intro to the HH world over 30 yrs ago, and I still greatly enjoy watching it.

But if you are reading this AE, then rest assured that I will be in line to see an AE version of Captain HH ASAP, will buy the DVD, etc., if you decide to do one.

I'm hoping that by signing up to be reminded of the tv showings, which includes e-mail news, A & E will be letting me know as soon as there is something to report. Where would one find worthwhile rumors?

I can remember reading somewhere on the web that at the launch of the laughable King Arthur, Ioan Gruffudd confirmed that they are in the process of writing the script of the New Hornblower movies. I cannot remember seeing anything on the A&E Website however confirming the production of the new HH. They can't keep us hanging on for much longer by the yardarm, surely

Well I certainly am confused - the A&E site has a reminder to watch the two new movies - Dec 2nd and 3rd. I don't think I got the reminder and I don't know if anything ever aired. I'd swear when I visited the A&E site back in Oct., they had clips from the upcoming movie(s). But by the dates of your posts, it doesn't sound like anything new is expected. Maybe A&E doesn't bother with keeping the site up to date with the large gaps in releases. 2 years - blimey - who can wait that long???

What happens and the NEW adventures of more Hornblower as he gets the rank of Captain!!!

I certainly hope there are many more to come. So far I've purchased every one of the DVD's and watch them over and over again. Best seafaring TV ever produced.
