I am sorry I didn't see this thread before. Dytoon, I'm afraid there are no plans at the moment for more Hornblower. In fact, late last year the production house that owned a lot of the props from the movies auctioned them off.  As you probably already noticed the forum is nearly dead. Most of us have moved to a different site. Please do join us if you'd like at www.horatians.org. BTW, your English is just fine. |

I'd love to see some new episodes too, and don't understand why A & E hasn't at least rerun the series as it was so good. I think there would be a higher demand for the show if they ran the old series as reruns.
The whole series was well done. Especially compared to the junk that A & E turns out now. Your English is fine by the way, I just don't think a lot of viewers even know about this jewel.
For you younger viewers, this series is packed with action, history, and has a superior plot.

Update: I've also found this message, but it's old news... from frebuary '07... But is there any more news from the fact that Ioan Gruffud wants to make a HH-movie? Did he bought the rights already? And it's a shame this forum isn't more active...  Ioan Gruffudd Wants To Make 'Hornblower' Movie Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd is planning to make a big screen version of his TV hit series Horatio Hornblower. The movie would also be a remake of the 1951 Gregory Peck-starring classic Captain Horatio Hornblower. Gruffudd, 33, made his name in the hugely successful mini-series and is attempting to gain the rights to the books by C.S. Forester, despite the refusal of network A&E, which produced the TV series, to fund the project. Gruffudd says, "I would love to play Hornblower again. I have a dream of playing him on the big screen and maybe doing a remake of Captain Horatio Hornblower, a.k.a. Gregory Peck. A&E decided that since it's such an expensive venture to make these movies for television, they're not going to make any more at this point. So it's down to me, I think, to try to bring it back to life." |

Hi everybody, First off all, I know this is a repost, but since this forum is (unfortunately) nearly 'dead', I thought it wouldn't do any harm to open another topic of it. The main quiestion, for me and all other Hornblower fans is, I think, when are there going to be new episodes of Hornblower? I've googled Hornblower several times, but I can't find much information on the internet. Till now, I only know that A&E told us that they haven't got any plans to make any future episodes, because it's to expensive. But Ioan Gruffudd said that he would love to make more episodes of HH. So I just want to know: Is it possible that there are going to be episodes 9-10 from Hornblower? (HH IV) Despite the fact that there are no plans on the moment... Is HH definitely finished?
