I don't think it's a black / white....hispanic / anglo issue. I think it's more a dislike of "Knock off" programs.......Let's face it, Richard and the boy's (and Girls) cut alot of corners on their houses too. A&E must Edit out the parts where the local building officials come by for their inspections. Maybe we should just all watch the Dukes of Hazzard.......Daisy looks alot better than all the girls.......

Just an inaccurate comment. Sometimes it just is what it is. No cultural bias, just preference.

People likeTrademark?? Good grief! I truly cannot stand those people! Particularly the big boss -- Richard. What a jerk! He is the quintessential "good old boy" -- and I don't mean that in a good way. And, for the record... I'm white.

I am an African American woman and I have to say I loved watching "Trademark". I even watched the repeats over and over. I was very disappointed when they did not return for the second season, so much so that when I saw the new team I immediately changed the channel. I did not get a chance to see the Montelongo's and after reading all the reviews about them and not being great reviews I am glad I didn't. I happened to be flicking through the channels last week and came across the Atlanta Team and I have to say that "yes" I paused because of the fact that they were an African American Team and it sparked my interest for many reasons that I will not go through at this moment. I have to say that they were pretty good and if Trademark had not been the first team that was broadcast the Atlanta Team would definitely be in the running. I loved Trademark, I even thought of taking trips to South Carolina just so I could meet Richard and Ginger and the whole Trademark team. There was just something about Richard and Ginger that clicked. It is hard for us to accept change and although I loved Trademark and hope they do come back, I can deal with the Atlanta Team for now. LET'S NOT MAKE THIS A RACE ISSUE FOLKS.......(-:

Well Sir, White folk should not be the only race accused of prejudice. I think it is equal among all races. None of us have any control over our color, or what has happened across the centuries for that matter. I think the Trademark show was entertainment, with some good ideas thrown in. 'Brown' tan, yellow or red people do not have to watch a show that happened to be all white. No more than white people would have to watch BET or Latino tv or whatever.. It was about THE SHOW, not race. People have been criticizing the San Antonio show because they didn't like their ethics, their mannerisms, their clothing, their hair products, etc. I do not think their color was the real reason for the hue and cry against this new "Flip this House' And no I am not that naive. Stanford grad is probably right proud of himself for creating such a hateful thread as this. My God everything doesn't have to be so serious.

I am a hispanic, full time real estate investor. The San Antonio team for me is what you do not want new investors to see. I do not believe in there negotiating tactics, it is impossible to build a relationship with contractors when you treat them like dirt. Relationship with your contractors is the key to success for an investor. I also do not believe that claiming to be the fastest growing real estate investment firm in Texas is true. His bio claims 200 houses per year that is just above average for a full time investor. I vote to bring back Trademark, there goal is what all new investors should follow. That is quality properties over volume will increase your bottom line.

SIGH. Actually, there is some truth to the idea that people watch and are fond of what they are simply familiar with. Mandy79-- refreshingly honest on your preference to view white people on "white" shows. Regarding the Montelongos, there have been numerous racial/prejudice postings on this board as well as the other Flip This House boards at TWOP. So for StanfordGrad to post this is not totally assinine. Many people DO have covert/overt racist thoughts. RACE CARD? Whatever. America is one big giant race card and it's played from every single angle. Whenever someone BROWN suggests racism or prejudices, it's always considered a "race card" even though unfortunately race does influence us greatly in this oddly founded country. By the way, this is No Man's Land. (Just thought I'd mention that for all the people who are so quick to tell people of other races to "GO BACK TO [fill in the blank country]." Mystic-- "illegal cockroaches"? That's why this post was started. If referring to an entire group/race of people as "illegal cockroaches" isn't racist, I don't know what is. EVEN IF YOU'RE Hispanic yourself, which I'm doubting. Um, should we consider that all/most white men are serial killers, wife dumpers for insurance policies? Gosh, we could go on and on with racial stereotypes with each race claiming feebly to be better or greater than other races. What would be the point? Who would ultimately judge such a "contest"? I have never seen so many people whine about their preference of a TV show. Once again, Trademark was not so professional; they all violted codes, were unethical, etc. By the way, how many people are actually watching the dang shows for the educational value of learning how to flip?! Richard Davis was arrogant at times too. So what? I personally could care less if he used brown (including black which is actually brown) people in his flips; I watched to LEARN how to flip. Sure, Armando and his team are a joke at times. Apparently he loves the camera. But to reduce him and his family and workers to crap just isn't right. Are the women dressed ridiculously for work? Sure. Does Armando use too much product in his hair? Sure. Are his workers shackled and forced to work under such conditions? No. Atlanta. Some people on this board (probably some of Trademark's people) picked Sam Leccima apart for something that he did with having a revoked real estate license or whatever. Guess what? I'm sure if you go digging around in Trademark/Richard's stuff you'll find all kinds of drama. He trespasses on properties, starts work without permits, etc., too. Race card? America's forefathers STARTED the race card. Deal with the playing of it in 2006. As much as we'd all like to think race ain't an issue anymore, think again. When you're challenged in your viewing preferences and beliefs, don't chalk it up to a race card.

How ridiculous. I have only seen The Atlanta group and Armondo's group, and Armondo is positively repulsive. I would prefer NOT to watch the Montelongos based on their lack of ethics, period. I have never seen a Trademark episode, unfortunately. And The Atlanta group does shoddy work. The colors don't look good together and it looks cheap. I like Big Boy, though.

I'm a new viewer to Flip This House, so I recently had the opportunity to watch the Trademark folks, the San Antonio folks, and the Atlanta folks. I'm African-American, and I think the Trademark folks are the more professional of the three, which is why people may prefer their style (and they are the creators of the show!). I like the Atlanta team, too. But, it's the concept of the show that I enjoy, which is "The drama companies go through to flip a house", i.e. dealing with contractors, the budget, and each other. I do agree that Armando from San Antonio is a bit abrasive, but that's just part of the "drama", isn't it. I will also watch the Trademark folks on their new show, and I will continue to watch this show.

my biases are not hidden. but this is not what im here for. armando is very unprofessional if he were talking to me the way he does these illegal cockroaches the show would have ended differently. their wives dress like its friday night at the club which is just unacceptable in the business world. i dont believe a word they say, just research the houses they say they 'sold' and check their feedback on the web. i wish them nothing but failure and hope they get fined and lose their business in the end for hiring cockroaches, as i do for anyone who hires them. the show is about THEM not the house and isnt even entertaining.

I've never seen either of the two new shows. I just won't watch them, because I've always been partial to originals. I don't watch sequels to movies, I only drink Coke, etc. I'm white, and yes, I will probably partial to the show with white people on it. That's because I can relate better to the cast. Big deal.
