Thanks for the info Mars..I didn't know that you could set up your DVD that way..A they say you're never too old to learn something new...... I just thinking of picking up a DVD player and I was wondering how I would work this out....There are some fascinating DVDs from the BBC that I may be interested in ordering(I presume that these movies would not be chomped to bits by the censors as there are here)....Movies should be seen as they are meant to be seen and not form fitted into a TV time slot with unending commercial breaks......

You can program most DVD players to play Region "0" .This allows you to play any region DVD and output NTSC signal from PAL disk. Look up your brand and model# on the internet. Some re-programing is done by entering a code on the remote.My system is a Sampo. The trick I learned was to burn a disk on my computer with an empty folder named Region0. I put this disk into my player and it instantly programmed it to Region 0.Now I buy Region 2 DVD's from Amazon UK and I still can play my Region 1 DVD's.
