Whitehall palace was lost during the fire of 1698 leaving only the Banqueting hall of Charles I. The Banqueting hall is still used for State and Society functions. Public is admitted at certain times. Charles II took down the old Greenwich palace and built the new Queen's house and Greenwich park. The Queen's house is now the site of the Royal Naval College. It was the architectural model for the White House. Richmond palace only exists as ruins and makes up part of a private residence.

I'm curious, and I probably should know this, but is Whitehall Palace still in use today? How about Hampton Court? Richmond or Greenwich? These were the favorite hangouts of Chas II and Henry VIII, but I never read anything about the present Royal Family using them. It's Sandringham, Windsor or Balmoral. Oh well, nice to have a home away from home MG
