There's only one feed

Oct 6, 2002 4:57 PM
we all get it at the same time!
It starts here at 8PM which is exactly the same as 5PM on the West coast,
so no need for envy <ggg>.
Besides, you can see the third repeat long after many EastCoasters are fast asleep.

Instead of setting up the play by play preview...

I thought better to hold back and just everyone watch the premiere showing on A&E tonight. It's the fair thing to do.

Other than that, in advance of seeing the presentation, I would suggest that everyone watching be prepared for a really clever miniseries movie. The original text of the 1912 story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle raises numerous moral questions and blooms out its story characters wonderfully. They call it "character development" -- which is significantly more than you got from the Spielberg movie.

I envy the East Coast feed. You get it three hours before my timezone.

Enjoy!

King Kong is my top favorite old classic Monster movies.(I'm a fan of the old monster movies and have a good collection-Dracula,Frankenstein,The Blob, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Black Cat...etc...)
Looking forward to a post from you to review the differences and similarites.
I don't want to miss this one!
Thanks for getting the enthusiasm going! LOL for THIS fan anyway.
Hope to touch base and discuss after the viewing.

Saturday Afternoon Play-by-Play Preview

Oct 3, 2002 1:37 PM
On Saturday afternoon, I am going to load the vhs print of the 1924 THE LOST WORLD movie, starring Wallace Beery as Prof. Challenger, and will post a scene by scene commentary on the movie. This early print is really fine. It's every bit as good as the early classic KING KONG. I watched it last weekend and can vouch for its entertainment and technical values. The sound track is a wonder in and of itself.... I will try to describe the music as it goes.

And Sunday! We get the 2002 BBC version!

Big weekend!
