Mayor...redux

My curious nature got the best of me and I went on the Internet to see which of Hardy's novels I had liked the best. I remember his short stories or tales with fondness, but it was Tess.......that was my all time favorite. I think the Mayor was 2nd or 3rd on that list. Also, I remember that Roman Polanski made a very good and decent re-creation of Tess... and I wouldn't mind seeing that again. It was a fine film. No,they aren't Thomas Hardy's words, but it would be a little difficult to put all of even just one Hardy character on screen. I'm just very grateful for the chance to see some of my favorites.
