This is to Rette. I was a freind of Kimi's. We went to Jr High together and that was the last I saw of her. Kimi was a sweet girl and I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She often came off as shy and quiet but she was a sweet person. I was serving in the Army in North Carolina when I found out about her death. Hers was one of two deaths in the old neighborhood that shook people, the other being the murder of Kristin Sumstead by Nick Athan. Both murderers have now, some 20 + years later, been brought to justice because the police never gave up. I hope that Kimi and Kristin have found their respective peace and my prayers have always been with the families. In the intervening years I've served in Cental America and Iraq as an Infantryman and relocated to Los Angeles where I am now a talk show host. I've spoken about Kimi and Kristin on the air because to me they weren't faces in an article. They need to be remembered as the vibrant beautiful young ladies they were. They were my friends. Don

This message is for Rette. I am so sorry about your cousin, Kimi Kai Pitsor. I am sure her loss has devastated her family, and I agree completely that Ridgway got off too lightly. I wish that someone could have helped Kimi before this happened to her. So many kids today are confused and terrible things happen to them. I'm in education so I have seen this a lot. I will think of her and pray for your family. My best to you.

I read your post and want to let you know how terribly sorry I am about your niece, Colleen Brockman. I recently read Ann Rule's book, GREEN RIVER RUNNING RED, which portrayed Colleen at the age of 15. I am sure that this has devastated your family, and have wondered how Colleen's family, including her father, brother, and mother, are doing since this happened. Since my own mother died nearly three years ago, one day before her 77th birthday, I've become much more aware of the permanent and profound impact of loss, and how we are never the same. I am glad they caught Ridgway so he can't harm anyone else. I just wish they could have gotten him before he harmed your niece. Thinking of you.

My heart goes out to family members who were Ridgeway's victims. I am a police instructor and am teaching fellow officers about delving into the mind of the serial killer. Please give me statements as to what goes on in the minds of the victims' families. I want to share those comments with my officers. We want to remember the victims and their kin. Thanks so much.

The thing is we all do dumb things as teens. When I think of the dumb things I did I shudder and I think about what could have happened. You don't fear death when you're young, the sad thing is you shouldn't have to. I think about these victims alot, makes me want to protect my own kids even more, and be grateful I have them.

Thank-you cari. No I didn't get a chance to speak & I wasn't able to go to the hearing. My son kept me apprised of the trial tho. He lives in Tualitan,Ore. The real shame was she was a mixed up kid,She was on her way home to her Dad. I wish I had th time to be reaqquainted with her. She was such a good little girl when we were in touch. I relly miss the kind of woman she would have been. Rette

Thank you Cari. I am sorry for your loss rette. It is satisfying to know he has been caught at last. As for his sentence, I am torn between knowing he confessed to all those murders and that at least most of the victims were identified and the families can now rest a bit easier. At the same time, it is hard to understand why they didn't go much harder on him. As for the movie, it should have been about ridgeway, the real investigation team, and the victims, not about ted bundy. I was extremely disappointed.

Yes I remember, Kimi Kai Pitsor was it? I lived very close to where she was found on Cemetery Hill I believe. You are so right when you say none of them deserved this. People have a tendency to dismiss prostitute murders because they actually believe these women bring on their own deaths. But these women were someone's daughters' someones' moms' someones sister and these were the victims too, but their pain will go on. Were you at the sentencing? Did you speak? Did someone speak for Kimi? I hope so..I wish you and your family the best. And I agree about Ridgeway.

My Cousin was a victim also, her name was Kimi. She was about 16.My uncle didn't live to see the day Ridgeway was caught but I made him a promise to keep hope alive that he would be caught. As far as I'm concerned, He got a light sentence. Her family actually went into hiding because of the press when he was caught. None of the girls deserved what happened to them.My cousin was decapitated and her body was found first ,her head was found 2 yrs. later. My uncle identified her by a necklace she had on when she was found. He doesn't deserve life, he deserves to be executed. I feel the judge was wrong & the defense & prosecutor.

I'm sorry for you and your family, I hear Colleen got to him especially because she still had braces on her teeth at the time of her death. I have a young daughter of my own and watching this is disturbing. I am from the Seattle area and lived by several of the dump sites, I remember it well.

I just want to thank both Reichter and Keppal for pursuing this case. One of the victims, Colleen Brockman, was my neice. She was only 15 when she disappeared. Reichter was the original detective on the case and at the time of Ridgeway's arrest was the sheriff. I want to him to know that Colleen's family is grateful that he never stopped searching for the a way to prove Ridgeway was her killer.
