I've read the book and seen the movie. While I had no misconceptions because of the promos, I expected the movie to mirror the book. The ruse to get Bundy to admit to the eight unsulved murders he was suspected of was, indeed, to enlist his help with the Green River killler. However, there was much about the ungoing investigation that led to Ridgeway's arrest. In the movie, this was an afterthought.

I don't understand how people got confused about the ads for this movie. I've never read the book and I live way on the other side of the country from where the murders occurred, in New England, but I had no misconception about the subject matter of the movie. The A&E ads clearly stated the movie was adapted from the book called "The Riverman: Ted Bundy and I Hunt for the Green River Killer". The title of the book wasn't "How I Solved the Green River Murders and Put Gary Ridgway in Prison"! It's clear that the book and movie focus on Ted Bundy and the part he played in the investigation. A&E delivered on quality TV (as usual) in this case as well as the actors and others connected with the production.

a&e advertised the book, which is what alot of people who didn't read it don't understand. The book was about Ted Bundy's input to Kepple about finding and understanding the Green River Killer. I think people misunderstood the title of the book if they hadn't read it. In it Bundy finally confesses to the Western Washington killings he had long been a suspect in. Maybe it's because I am from here but Bundy is of huge interest to me since I well remember the murders. I also would like to hazard a guess that this book is therapy for Kepple who was so stymied by these murders.

a&e has always been one of my favorite channels, but i was really dissapointed in this movie, and so were many of my friends. it was mostly about ted bundy, and that is not what your ad's led us to believe. i hope this is not a preview of what is to come on A&E.
