I just saw the show, it is April 23, 2005, so I am behind here! To those who say Cary Elwes was not believable as Ted Bundy, I just want to say...I thought before I saw it he was too "cute" to play Ted Bundy, and while it may be true that there was not a really close resemblance physically to Ted Bundy, I thought he did an awesome job playing the part of the serial killer. There were a couple of times when he went from portraying a taunting, gibing Bundy to an evil, perverted sicko that actually sent chills down my spine.

Yeah, Jess! It was really up close and personal. At times I felt like I was confined in that space with Keppel and Bundy! The "creep" factor was very high on this intense and interesting (for us serial killer buffs) movie!

I agree that the previews weren't misleading. I also agree with Lady about Elwes. I was so frightened by the end of the movie I had to keep telling myself that he was the same actor who played in that robin hood movie...During the movie I really felt like I was in the room with Bundy and Keppel. It was an extremeley erie feeling.

In my opinion, the movie was very well done and met up to its expectations as a psychological drama that delved into the psyche and motivations of these serial killers. In a time, when we as viewing consumers are bombarded with mindless media, this is an option that provides the viewer with something to think about. I think that the acting was outstanding. Overall, I appreciated a different perspective on topics that we've previously heard about.

Completely agree with you, NineCrack...I haven't read the book, but in all the previews I saw, I never thought the story was about Ridgway. To me, it was clearly about Keppel and his experience in the investigation, with the focus on how Bundy gave him more insight into the mind of a killer.

The acting was first-rate, and I have to congratulate Elwes (as I have in other posts); his portrayal of Bundy was frightening. There were a few times I had to look closely at the TV to be sure it wasn't Bundy! I was amazed at how he even got Bundy's voice right.

That's not the point. This isn't a book club where you have to read the book before you see the show. The promos were misleading about what this story was about, and this is why some people are disappointed.

I thought the acting was pretty bad, but it was probably because the dialog was written so poorly.

....it was obvious that this film was based on Keppel's book. It was true to the book, and the acting was first-rate. Greenwood and Elwes gave fantastic performances. Don't knock the film if you were erronenously expecting it to be all about Ridgway. It's not A&E's fault that you hadn't read the book this was based on.
