OK we get it. The Evangelical side of Christainity, who promotes an intolerant, racist, homophobic, commerce driven, sin-wollowing god, dressed up as Jesus Christ, doesn't support Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, and the Transgenered community. We get it. They heve a narrow view of "family values" which includes guys banging girls on their backs, and only that. We get it.

So lay off and let the rest of Christainity, who are seriously exploring how 1st century scripture can speak to 21st century folks about love and tolerance and speaking to Gentile and Jew, and Greek and Free, and women and men (and those caught in between), and gay and straight, and all colors of skin tone (other than the near-eastern olive ones that biblical folks would have known and which Jesus was incarnated within)... let us get on with the busy-ness of discerning God's realm and way for us.

Take your hate mongering, fire spewing, sactimonious postions and cram them where the Son evidently don't shine.

But then again this might just be me...

Hide behind the Bible and spew hate - NO WAY.

There are some of us, yes even some of the preachers, who stand on the Bible and preach LOVE.
If you actually look at the Greek (yes the New Testament was written in Greek) words used in Romans, you will find that they are NOT common words. There is much discussion in learned circles about what is actually ment.
I personally preach God's love. Yes I am gay friendly, most of my best friends are gay. My prayers, are for the people who spew hate, that they would see that love is of God, and rejoice where ever that love is found. (1 John 4 : 7 - 8)

Arrogant bigotry in the name of God! Where is the love, compassion and tolerance from the people who claim to be children of a God who is all loving? I refuse to let this be a rant; but the intolerant arrogant spewing of people who hide behind the bible and use God to justify their own bigotry and hate constantly amazes me. I respect each individual’s right to decide their own beliefs and mores, but to believe that their beliefs are the only correct belief’s is pure arrogance. To spew hatred in God’s name is certainly a dishonor. I have to ask, how many of these people have actually looked into all the different religions and beliefs and came to the conclusion that they have chosen the “right” religion? Most members of religions are solely members because their parents/family belonged to that religion, they did not chose their religion, it was passed down to them. We would all still believe the world was flat if it was not for the fact that one man questioned this. When one does not think for them selves and believes blindly in what one is taught – then I would call this brain washed. All one needs to do is look at the history of religion itself. History paints a disturbing picture of wars, deaths, destruction, and atrocities that have occurred in the name of God and still continue to this day. How can we accept these past and present atrocities and yet vehemently condemn love between people of the same sex as sinful and against God’s will? We live in a world where violence has become the norm. Our TV set’s and movie theatre’s are filled with violent war and slasher films, yet we accept this, we even let our children watch these shows/movies. Should a show/movie contain a same sex kiss; all of a sudden we are on our feet condemning this. This say’s a lot about our societal values. To address the issue of procreation - What if homosexuals are God’s way of preventing the world from becoming over populated? What if homosexuality is part of the balance of nature? It is proven scientific fact that homosexuality does occur in nature. As for family values – Define family for me? If a family unit is made up of a father (male), mother (female), and biological children; then we are dismissing half of the families on this earth. If society were to let the populace vote on minority rights, then women would still be subservient to men, blacks would still be enslaved, and inter-faith relationships would not be allowed. To believe that you have chosen the right God to worship is arrogant – with the hundreds, perhaps thousands of religions that exist in today’s society. It will be interesting to see if you picked the right religion; but of course you will never know until your own final judgment day is here. Is love not one of the most important gifts God has given us? How could love be wrong, no matter what form it comes in? If you do believe in God, then you are doing him a dishonor by not using the gifts he bestowed upon you – free will, a mind to think and question for yourself and most important the gift of love. Lastly, if you think homosexuality is a choice then let me ask you this – If God said to you, I have created two path’s in life for you, the first path is paved and an easy walk; you will find love and acceptance along the way. The second path is rocky and filled with thorns and briars; you will find it difficult to find love and acceptance on this path. Which path would you choose? Respectfully – think about it. Hope you made the right choice!
